Chief is a 14.2 hand, 7 year old appaloosa gelding.
Per the owner:
He is a good little trail horse (no problems with water, logs, etc) and is current on all shots. We practice natural feet trimming and will be getting another trim tomorrow. He does have some respect issues, but we have been working with him and he has improved immensely (can be pushy/wanders around the pasture when trying to halter). He is not registered and was used in the past for 6 hour trail rides regularly as part of a riding stable.
He is a very smooth ride, and doesn't seem to mind leading or following. Because of the respect issues, I would not recommend him for a beginner. He is good for the farrier; a little shy of fly spray, so we have been using a towel. He enjoys being groomed and is fairly gentle when we give him his treats.
