Skips Unpainted Dixie is by a Skipper W line-bred stallion out of an Obvious Conclusion mare (view pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/skips+unpainted+dixie. Super quiet breedingstock paint mare. She needs miles but is perfect on the ground, stands for saddling and bridling, and comfy gaits. Wonderful western jog. Healthy feet, easy keeper. UTD on everything. Stands at 15hh, 1300 lbs. Has been ridden by beginners including my husband and 10 y/o.
She has all the basics but nothing fancy; no neck rein (work in progress). She has very easy gaits and is not forward at all, so it takes some leg encouragement to get her to transition from the trot into the canter. Very level mover and a super sweet personality; will stand tied all day long and seems to prefer people to horses. My husband and stepdaughter can easily ride her. She is not put off by water, tractors, 4 wheelers, dogs, etc. Aims to please and trusts her rider; if she is unsure of something and the rider presses her to move forward, she complies. We've had her about a year and a half, though admittedly we haven't done a ton of fancy riding/training work; just have picked her out of the pasture and played.
