14.1hh, no papers, 7 y/o grade gelding. He is quiet broke, great brakes, good walk, trot, trail mentality. Lots of stamina to ride all day but not a hot head. Canter is easy enough, takes a little support to stay in it, but very willing and compliant; sets his head nicely and moves in frame. He's a good size & build to be a gaming horse, or possibly hunter prospect. He has tons of trail miles and some playing with cows. Sweet natured, easy going boy!
If you want an easy walk-trot horse, he can do that all day long as he sits with no questions asked. He has a tendency to kick out (not buck, not even enough movement to toss your hind end off the saddle - it is shown in the video @ 2:49) when first asked to canter when he's been "sitting" for a bit. This would make him unsuitable for the unconfident rider who wants to canter. He has packed a young (confident, though inexperienced) rider in the round pen at all three gaits; she pushed him through the cowkick and moved on. If he's ridden consistently, or if cantering is not of interest, this is a non-issue.
Stands quietly, loads nicely, ties, tacks up easily, solid bare feet, and easy keeper; gets along well in the herd and doesn't push anyone around. Current as of 1/2012 on vetting/coggins.
