Per the owner:
Deacon is 15 hands (maybe more but I am a poor guesser), grey, and absolutely lovely. He has no known vices and I have placed children on him to lead around. I am an intermediate level rider (and over 50) and had no problems with him. My beginner husband rode him and only had issues when the husband wasn't paying attention - ie: talking on cell phone. The horse can be a big baby and is very affectionate. He loads well in a stock tailer but detests my 2-horse bumper hitch -suspect he feels that he will not fit. He is a big-feeling, compact, but large horse.
Why am I seeking a new home for him?
1. I purchased him for my husband who has failed to find time to ride/work the horse
2. I live on the gulf-coast -I have TOO much lush pasture and this horse gets sore feet every spring on 10 acres of endless grazing. I have placed him in a small paddock area for most of the summer/fall and he is sound -but he cannot tolerate this environment.
3. I have an Arab for my personal horse and prefer a smaller mount for myself.
I want him (Deacon) to have a nice, safe home where he can be cared for without the risk of laminitis every spring and he can be ridden and enjoyed as he should.
